An alumnus of the Diksoochi course conducted by Samvada’s Baduku Centre for Livelihoods Learning on career guidance, Vijaykumar hails from Malluru, Byadagi taluk, Haveri District. He completed Master’s in Criminology and Forensic science from Karnataka University, Dharwad in 2015. His passion for working towards constitutional values, and the desire to do his bit towards building a just world brought him to social work. He first worked at Bharath Gyana Vigyana Samiti in Bangalore, following which he worked with a GoK-UNICEF project and Shanti Sandesh Trust. Until, all roads lead to Samvada. 

Vijay is currently working as the convenor of Samvada’s Kolar Youth Resource Center. He can be found sporting a smiling face, welcoming attitude and patient demeanor while at work. Creativity, administration and being social are some of Vijay’s strengths. Working with the youth and spending time with them- discussing issues, learning from them, he says brings him joy and helps him stay young. Weekends and holidays are spent reading, watching movies/plays, cooking and trekking.
