Jamuna hails from Bangalore. She has completed her BBA from APS College, Basavanagudi. In the second year of college, through a friend she learnt about Samvada’s youth resource centre in the city. She calls the initial visit, a love at first sight! She traces back leadership skills and understanding of social issues she’s imbibed over the years to the YRC. In 2017, she had the opportunity to be a part of Maraa Collective’s Unreserved Project as a Performance Facilitator which took her to Kashmir, Kerala and Assam and which involved themes of gender, religion and caste. In 2018, she joined Munnade as the Operations Manager- a role which she says gave her an understanding of what it entails to run a non-profit. Additionally, capacity building training by Dhwani Foundation strengthened her footing in this domain. In October 2022, she joined Samvada as its HR associate.

Jamuna has always made time to volunteer outside of her work and college hours and to be involved in activism surrounding women’s empowerment and communal harmony. In fact, she strives to incorporate ideals of justice into her work as a HR associate when conventionally it most often does not. She is eager to question as well as pitch new ideas!

Jamuna is adventurous with food and exploring new places. Solo-riding at night, being amidst nature trying to decipher messages from its elements, brings her peace and tranquillity.
