Devaraj has been working in Samvada since 2005. Coming from Gudadanal, a small village in Raichur district, he completed his Master’s in Social Work from Gulbarga University. Before joining Samvada, he worked for some time at MYRADA and Prayas Counselling Centere. Devaraj started off as a youth mentor and facilitator at Samvada. He then became the convenor of the Bangalore YRC. His wit and penchant for dialogue with young people made him very popular among the students in our YRC’s! Now as Programme Convenor of Sahayana, he plays an integral role in youth rights advocacy and state-level networking. As an activist, he has been engaged in fighting for the rights of migrant labourers and pourakarmikas and has also served as the Secretary of PUCL in Bangalore in 2006-07.
