Poornima is currently Programme Convenor of Centre for Youth Work and Youth Rights at Samvada. In her current role she is involved in grant monitoring and management, building capacities of youth workers and promoting youth work at a national level, youth rights advocacy as well as contributing to various research efforts at Samvada. Her interest in participatory and creative pedagogies is what brought her to Samvada. With a Master’s in Women Studies from TISS, Mumbai, her interests lie in gender, sexuality, development and cultural studies. Poornima is also an active member of the Urban Folk Project (UFP). Her curiosity for the performing arts has led her to take up the chowdki and other instruments as part of UFP’s work. She is also in the organising committee of the Bangalore Queer Film Festival (BQFF). When not at work you will often find her strumming the ukulele or experimenting with sketching and photography!
