Dr. Seema S R
Faculty, Baduku Centre for Livelihoods Learning

Seema is an alumnus of Kuvempu University and has majored in English Literature. Her inclination to hone interpersonal relationships and effectively reach out to youth in the education sector motivated her to pursue a Master’s degree in counselling from Manasa Trust. Dr. Seema S R has a decade’s experience in teaching at various institutions including Sahyadri Arts and Commerce College, Shivamogga; Dayananda Sagar and Acharya Institute of Management and Sciences, Bangalore. Her eagerness to work towards building an egalitarian society brought her to Samvada.

Seema’s love and concern for nature steered her research towards finding nature in literature. This resulted in a doctoral thesis titled “Amitav Ghosh’s Novels-an ecocritical perspective”, which explores the contemporary climatic crisis as a consequence of socio-cultural crisis stemming from colonial rule. Her other areas of interest are post-colonial literature, Dalit literature, Gender studies, film studies and drama.

Dr. Seema S R is a faculty member at Samvada’s Baduku-Centre for livelihoods learning. When not at work, you often find her listening to music, watching movies or reading.
