Born in Mandya, Ashwini moved to Bengaluru in her 5th grade. With a Master’s degree in Kannada from National College, she is persistently engaged in acquiring knowledge. Besides pursuing her B.Ed, Ashwini is also contemplating Ambedkar studies at Karnataka State Open University (KSOU). Her teaching career began with tutoring children. She subsequently went on to teach Kannada at BGS PU college and gained research experience working under the supervision of renowned historian and scholar Sha. Shettar. Additionally, Ashwini worked as a corona warrior at the ward level and worked as a focal person in the Rainbow home.
With a passion for performing arts since her Pre-University days, Ashwini has acted in plays and has learnt Bharatanatyam. Her belief in social justice led her to be a part of a community-based organisation called ‘Tamate’ and a few study circles. One can find her penning down poems in her free time. Prior to joining Samvada as a Youth Mentor, Ashwini spent time mentoring children from the slums.
